The Board of Directors of The Capital Region Festival of Theatre is thrilled to announce their formation. A 501(c)3, CRFT is dedicated to the expansion and awareness of theatre in the Northeast Region. Begun in August of 2024, the organization's main thrust is to offer exposure to the general community of the number of theatrical venues and events that occur within the region throughout the year available to all ages, races, ethnicity, and genders. This promotion of events will culminate with an annual theater festival, this year, to be held Friday, June 13 through Sunday, June 15 and will include participation by many of the over 100 theater companies, 6 regional venues and 100s of volunteers all involved in some aspect of theatrical life in the region. All events will be free and open to the public.
The locations for various events will spread from Ft. Salem Theater to theREP, Sand Lake Center for the Arts, The Cue Theatre, Russell Sage College and the University at Albany.
A fundraising mixer will be held on Thursday evening June 12 at The Cue Theater in Center Square in Albany.
CRFT's Board of Directors is made up of people from all walks of theatrical life; producers, directors, playwrights, actors, reviewers and a myriad of those with technical backgrounds in the theatre.
Board members include President Patrick White, Chris Foster, Kelly Blitz, Ellen Cribbs, Jillian Becker, Shaya Reyes and William Kellert.
